Events @ Amber Valley Vineyards

We're rightly proud of the events we hold here at Amber Valley Vineyards.  This page is devoted to the events we run at our beautiful rustic, countryside site in the glorious, and relatively little known, Amber Valley of Derbyshire just to the east of the Peak District.  As well as the obvious vineyards we also have a beautiful orchard and hay meadow, which provides a backdrop that lifts the experience on our site.

Orchard & Vineyard Workshops

Winter 2026 Dates Below...

Now entering its fourth year, our Apple Tree Pruning and Grafting workshops at Amber Valley Vineyards have become a trusted training opportunity for those involved in orchard care and fruit tree heritage. Led by Mel and Dave of the Leicestershire Heritage Apple Project, both of whom bring decades of hands-on experience and deep horticultural knowledge, these sessions offer practical, well-structured guidance in essential orchard skills. Designed for community orchard groups, allotment growers, and anyone keen to preserve traditional fruit tree varieties, the workshops are particularly well-suited to organisations training volunteers — such as last year’s small cohort from the Woodland Trust. With a strong focus on passing on tried-and-tested skills in pruning and grafting, these workshops aim to equip participants with both confidence and competence to care for apple trees and support the long-term resilience of community orchards.

Fizz 'n' Chip Friday's

Keep an eye out for the return of these wonderful evenings in 2026!

Our special and short notice events that are notified by social media and email and indicated on the Monday, called on the Tuesday only if the forecast looks good.  Buy your fish and chips at Wessington's fish and chips just up the road and come and join us in the orchard for wine in a stunning location. Generally runs from about 5pm till 9pm(ish).

This year’s tagline is ‘create new traditions’. Our wine is inspired by tradition, but not bound by it. After 2,000 years of importing wine, we decided to make our own. And it turns out we’re rather good at it.

Our goal is to encourage you to make the switch and drink English wine. Visit a vineyard as part of a day out, celebrate a special occasion with a local wine, pair English wine with your Friday fish and chips. Create new traditions with English wine. For more info click here.

Wessington Wassail!

Wake the Trees!

It's Back!! Wessington Wassail returns Saturday 31st January 2026 4pm till 7pm.

We're delighted to bring back Wassail! for 2025! It might coincidence, the horrendous weather or because we had to cancel Wassail 2024 but we had a much smaller crop this season.  So we can't have that again.

Wessington Wassail 2025 will be a smaller affair, to ensure we can run it regardless of the weather but it will still still be full of the magic, the mood and the experience as we Wake the Trees!
