Cider Club

The first rule of Cider Club is… you DO talk about Cider Club.

Join us on the last Friday of every month, 7–10pm , for a relaxed evening of good cider, good company and, naturally, pork pie.

We’ll have our own Amber Valley ciders at the bar alongside guest ciders from other makers, with occasional visiting producers, speakers, tastings and cider-related diversions. Some months we might even dispense with the educational stuff entirely and just drink cider and talk nonsense.

Entry is £5, including plenty of pork pie... or cheese and bread... occasionally both! Booking is important because it allows us to control numbers and cater appropriately — particularly when the weather drives us into the Cellardoor, where places are strictly limited to 14 people . The Cellardoor is where we make our cider and wine, so there’s no better place to drink cider!

Through the warmer months we’ll generally meet in the covered Orchard Pavilion, where we can accommodate rather more of you. In winter, the Cellardoor and its woodburner become our cosy fallback — but we won’t be slaves to the calendar . If we get a mild, dry winter evening, there’s no reason not to light the outdoor fire pit, gather in and around the Pavilion and enjoy the orchard after dark. We’ll decide the setting according to the weather.

A few practicalities: We’re in the middle of a field. There is parking on site, but the ground can be wet and muddy and it gets properly dark . Bring a torch, wear sensible footwear and dress warmly for the weather. Even with the woodburner or fire pit going, this is a rustic rural venue, not a centrally heated pub!

We’re also only around a five-minute walk from Wessington village .
